Hiking - Walking: Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Another top day making the most of the great weather - wall to wall
sunshine and light airs :)
Mag and I were up at 6:30 made our flask and headed down to the front to
watch the sunrise, we stopped by the pier to start to check the photo
oppertunity but there was a bank of cloud out to sea :( so no pictures !!
but we found a couple of pallets for our open fire :) so we parked up at
the dip to read the paper and have our coffee before heading of along the
prom to Felixstowe Ferry - there had been a steady stream of fishing boats
going to the Ferry to make the most of the mill pool conditions !!! At the
slip way we had never seen so many boats queing up to launch. The tide was
very low so we were hoping to see lots of birds in the mud but sadly there
were only a few gulls. We then headed along the R.Deben for a bit before
heading back past the golf course and back home for homemade soup :) Then I
cut up a pallet and used my new axe bought on our last visit to France
while Mag made a lemon cake :) After adjusting the straps on my new
raceboard we drove to Landguard and walked to the R.Orwell as the sunset,
sadly no birds as there were a lot of people about :( but the sunset was
nice. So a lovely day with two walks of about 6 miles and it is looking
promising for some windsurfing next week :)
PS - the lemon cake was great !!!
